Have always been very helpful and taken very good care of our pets.
Called the after hours number, telling the Dr. That my dog was not eating or drinking and would not stand up, and that his ear was severely swollen. I was told that his ear sounded like a hematoma and that it wasn't an emergency. After a very long night, I took my furry baby to another vet , who promptly found small fang marks on his ear and that he had suffered a venomous snake bite. After proper care and medicine, my big boy is up and as good as new. I do believe a snake bite is an emergency and that what it sounded like was not the case. I knew something was really wrong. Please do not bring your pets to this place if you love them. Take them to someone who will listen when you say it's an emergency because you know your pet, not make lame excuses on what it sounds like.
Absolutely the BEST place to take your pet. I took my dog to a local vet because she was losing weight and very lethargic. He couldn't find anything wrong. I took her back to him 3 different times and each time he said she was fine although she had lost several pounds during that time and was so lethargic and wouldn't eat. Finally I took her to Ark Animal Hospital (because I thought she was getting ready to die) and they found she had "the worse case of whipworms" they had ever seen. She stayed there about a week and when we went to pick her up she was like a different dog. Had her appetite back and her energy. So thankful to the staff and doctor that took care of her. They were all very kind and compassionate. Will drive the 45 miles any time I need vet services. Well worth it.
